“Making them think, question, and perhaps sometimes even believe.”

-Photographer David Hilliard

For me, sexual orientation has always been an interesting concept. From my personal experience it seems that everyone owns an adventurous sexual side, whether it is worn on their sleeve or kept in the closet. I often see people as a sort of fun house, with different sides and surprising twists. Just as in a fun house, some things about a person are hidden and some come off directly. The following images allude to this idea with their disorienting puzzled together compositions. The different panels are meant to represent that there are many sides that make up any one single person.

Sexuality is an abstract concept, there are blurred lines and these lines are forever changing. I believe that everyone secretly likes to play “dress up” and try on a new attitude or take a little stroll in someone else’s shoes. These images show my deep interest in the playfulness of sexuality, shown thru a young gay man transitioning into a drag queen. The quote above from photographer David Hilliard had a great deal of influence on this body of work. I believe that sexuality is something to think about, and question, and perhaps sometimes even believe.
